Pilates Mat Classes in Diemen

Mat Pilates is a training method that focuses on building strength, stability, flexibility, and body awareness – without machines.

You’ll use your own body weight to perform controlled movements that target the deep abdominal muscles, back, pelvic floor, and glutes – also known as your core.

Each class is built around breathing, precision, and focus. The movements may be calm, but they’re intense – perfect for anyone looking to develop a strong and stable foundation.

Mat Pilates is a training method that focuses on core strength, posture, mobility, and body control. You’ll use only your own body weight and perform controlled, precise exercises on a mat.

The focus is on the deep muscles (abdominals, back, pelvic floor), breathing, and mindful movement. It may sound calm — but it’s often more challenging than you think.

De focus ligt op de diepe spieren (buik, rug, bekkenbodem), ademhaling en bewuste beweging. Klinkt rustig – maar is vaak pittiger dan je denkt.

Good question! They may feel similar in atmosphere, but they’re actually quite different:

Yoga comes from a spiritual tradition, with a strong focus on meditation, breathing, and relaxation. Pilates originated in the field of rehabilitation and is more technical, with an emphasis on muscle strength, stability, and body awareness. Both help you feel more connected to your body — but while yoga mainly relaxes, Pilates also truly helps you build functional strength.

– Comfortable sportswear that allows you to move freely
– (Grip) socks or bare feet
– A water bottle
– An open mind — because you’re about to discover new ways of using your body. 😉

A mat is provided at our studio, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

Absolutely. Mat Pilates is actually one of the safest ways to get moving again, especially if you’re dealing with:

– Back or neck issues
– Pelvic instability
– Knee or hip problems
– Scoliosis or hypermobility
– Recovery after surgery or injury
– Complaints caused by repetitive work (e.g., prolonged sitting, lifting, or standing)

In each class, the focus is on control, technique, and mobility, so you’ll never have to force your body. We always provide modifications for your situation — whether you’re just starting out or rebuilding after some time off.
